Maharashtra State Board of Secondary & Higher Secondary Education

To conduct S.S.C. and H.S.C. Exams twice a year (March & October) under the control of the State Board.
To fix centres for final Exam in the area under the authority.
To appoint paper setters, translators, examiners, moderators, custodians, conductors.
To declare the results of the candidates of the final exams.
Grant recognition to Secondary Schools / Junior Colleges or cancel their recognition in accordance with the manner laid down.
To forward the proposals of the committees to the State Board for necessary action.
To avail other authorities rendered to them by the State Board.
Take action according to the procedure of the State Board in cases where unfair means have been used.
To forward the list of students for scholarships and prizes to the State Board according to their achievement.
